VOAVideo: China's Economy Overtakes Japan
China has overtaken Japan to become the world's second largest economy. New figures released Monday show Chinese economic output, as measured by Gross Domestic Product (GDP), reached $1.337 trillion in the second quarter of 2010, compared to 1.288 trillion for Japan. As Mil Arcega reports, the end of Japan's reign as the second largest economy, behind the United States, underscores China's rapidly growing clout as an economic superpower.

US Growth Slows in Second Quarter
VOAVideo: US Growth Slows in Second Quarter
Slower economic growth in the United States pushed global stocks lower Friday. The U.S. Commerce Department reports the country's gross domestic product, the broadest measure of the nation's economic health, grew by a disappointing 2.4 percent in the second quarter.
